To Our Healthy Food Ambassadors & Advocates in Rock County:

Heritage. Harvest. Home.

These terms mean different things to everyone, but in Rock County, they embody community, and a way of life.

We want you to play a role in feeding Rock County with healthy food. Join us in educating the community about its rich agricultural and food heritage, while providing recipes and sources from which they can access healthy, locally grown food on a daily basis.

By eating healthy food and buying local, we support the Rock County economy and improve the lives of families in the community.

The Rock County Historical Society is excited to announce Sunday Dinner, a new, annual awareness farm to table dinner, served family style that brings together local farmers, food providers, businesses and local citizens to celebrate and support the food missions in 2016 of ECHO, Janesville Craig FFA, and a new food awareness initiative of the Rock County Historical Society.

Set on the campus of the Rock County Historical Society on Sunday, September 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the shadow of the iconic Lincoln-Tallman House, we invite you, your family or your business to be a part of something special and sustainable: an annual event that honors our agricultural past while supporting local nonprofits that aim to make Rock County a better place to eat.

Sunday Dinner will feature:

  • An abundant farm to table dinner, served family style, with each course made from local ingredients and prepared by culinary experts. Receive a complimentary Sunday Dinner cookbook and continue the meal at home by preparing food that includes local ingredients and recipes.
  • A history showcase honoring farm families in Rock County by displaying the agricultural diversity of the area that offers rich and healthy food to Wisconsin and the country.
  • Activities with plenty of opportunities to support local food and agricultural nonprofits through our live auction, while playing horseshoes and taking selfies among historic tractors and trucks.

Feeding families healthy food from locally sourced providers is a win-win for the community and an effort that I hope your family and/or business will want to be a part of.

Sponsoring Sunday Dinner is easy. Simply complete the form below and make your tax-deductible donation to the Rock County Historical Society via credit card or PayPal account. If you’d rather, download and complete the sponsorship form and return it with payment by Thursday, August 4.

Thank you for the time and consideration. I look forward to partnering with you in this fun-filled, community event. If you need any further information, please call me directly at 608-756-4509 ext. 301.

Sincerely,

Mike Reuter
