Product Description

The Rock County Fair was not always held in Janesville; it also has been in Evansville and other towns. This 1911 caravan, pausing in front of the Janesville Gazette building on East Milwaukee Street, tried to drum up enthusiasm around the county for a Janesville fair.

The Rock County 4-H Fair held at the present fairgrounds dates from 1930. It was the first 4-H fair in the nation and remains the largest youth fair.
