Operated by LeRoy O. Garey, Garey’s Tower Hamburger at 320 West Milwaukee was a popular spot to visit before or after a show at the Apollo and Jeffris theaters. By 1934, the name was changed to Ray’s Tower Restaurant.

A Chevrolet is parked in front of the restaurant, advertising the 1932 film, “The Devil is Driving,” showing at the Jeffris Theater.
