Historic Rock County Walking Tours: Evansville

It’s finally summer and it is time to put on your walking shoes for the Historic Rock County Walking Tours. Each month, the Rock County Historical Society (RCHS) will feature a different place in Rock County, shifting the focus out of Janesville and into the many unique and fascinating communities in the area. This month the Walking Tours will be exploring scenic Evansville!

The program will last about an hour and will be a nice jaunt around Evansville, with many historic stops along the way. The event is totally free and guests are encouraged to ask questions to their tour guide as they walk along the route. Families are encouraged to attend, and feel free to bring well-behaved leashed dogs as well.

The meeting place will be at Eager Free Public Library (39 W Main Street in Evansville, WI) and departure is promptly at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 11th. Walkers are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes as the group will be walking and standing for around an hour.

A special thank you goes to both the Evansville Grove Society and Evansville Historic Preservation Commission for hosting this tour; RCHS is very grateful to partner with both organizations in this endeavor. It’s great to have such wonderful neighbors in Evansville!
