Due to its location, the Historical Society Campus is positioned to be an integral part of

revitalization efforts of the Look West neighborhood and downtown Janesville in partnership

with its neighbor, Mercy Health System. This strategy links the Historical Society with the

energies of BOTH Janesville and Rock County leaders in improving the local economy

and cultural tourism to the area, ultimately fostering a greater quality of life for its citizens

and communities.

The campus possesses a unique blend of historic sites and collections that offers the ability

to create engaging educational programming, while covering the span of Rock County's

history over 180 years.

The Historical Society seeks to leverage these assets, enabling it to offer history experiences

to a broader audience, both inside and beyond Rock County. Vital to this goal is closer

collaboration and synergies with other historic sites, cultural nonprofits and other

organizations within the Rock County to promote its rich heritage, places and people.
