New interpretive signage

and the narratives that they

embody, perpetually point

back to the Rock River, an

origin point for initial

settlement for all peoples.

THE ECONOMY•

The evolution of the RCHS

campus is a direct reflection

of an ever growing and

healthy local economy with

investment in the campus’

potential by leadership in the

business and government

sectors.

THE PEOPLE•

Historic statues, art and

landscape treatments

celebrate and honor

individual achievement and

cornerstone occupations

that have directly impacted

and shaped Rock County.

THE CONTEXT•

When combined with the

campus’ unique sites and

landscape, the Plan’s new

elements are tools at the

Society’s disposal for

conveying the special place

that is Rock County,

Wisconsin.

Interpretive Vision

The stories that are shared on campus and enjoyed by its visitors are framed by five main messages that speak to the character, heritage and history of Rock

County, Wisconsin and its people, while connecting contextually to national and global issues.
